With all the media attention lately of battery fires, we feel it is our duty to let everyone know how used batteries need to be handled so fires don’t happen. It seem like everything works with a battery today from Button Cell, Lithium Primary Cell, Lithium Ion, Nickel Metal Hydride Seal Cell batteries, etc…. When storing used batteries the contacts should be taped and not allowed to touch other used battery contacts. Some batteries should even be individually bagged. Be sure to always wear safety glasses and gloves when doing this. Once this is done the batteries should be recycled by a certified R2 Electronics Recycler, which we are at Atlanta Recycling Solutions. If you would like more information about battery recycling or how you should be packaging your batteries, please contact Atlanta Recycling Solutions at 678-566-6665 for more details.
